(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Imam Khamenei made the remarks as he addressed worshippers at prayers marking Eid ul-Fitr.
Imam Khamenei called on people in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia and Yemen to vigilantly guard their revolutions so that the arrogant powers would not hijack their revolutions.
“Muslim nations whether in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Yemen, and in the rest of countries need to be vigilant today. They should not allow the victories they have gained to be hijacked by enemies.”
Imam Khamenei also pointed to NATO attacks on Muammar Gaddafi’s regime, saying those countries which consider themselves as owners of the Libyan revolution are those past colonial powers who helped suppress the Libyan nation.
Imam Khamenei was indirectly referring to the colonization of Libya by Italy, Britain and France.
“Today they have come and want to take advantage of the situation; (and) nations must be vigilant.”
Imam Khamenei went on to say, “Of course, we are very worried about situation in Bahrain. The Bahraini people are cruelled, suppressed; promises are made but those promises are not fulfilled.”
Imam Khamenei assured that the movement of the Bahraini people for democracy “will certainly succeed” and this true everywhere in the world.
At the end Imam Khamenei pointed to famine in Somalia and said “A great grief which has shadowed our heart is the grief of the Somali people,” and asked the Iranian people and officials to send humanitarian aid to Somalia as much as they can.
Imam Khamenei also referred to the March upcoming parliamentary elections in Iran, saying election is a “challenge” and all should be careful that this challenge would not harm the country’s security.
“Election which is a manifestation of religious democracy should support our security.”
